When Prep meets Punk!

Milly's Spring 2010 line!
This is what I like to call "When prep meets a little bit of punk!"

Milly is known for her "Park Avenue" style but she has spiced it up a little bit... and check out the side ponies!!! LOVE IT :)

Ivanka and Grace!

This past weekend Ivanka Trump married Jared Kushner at the Trump National Golf Club. There were 500 guest in attendance... just a small gathering:) But I must say I think she looked amazing!

The Dress: Vera Wang

Ivanka was inspired by the wedding dress worn by Grace Kelly. This dress was designed by Helen Rose, the MGM costume designer. Simple, elegant and chic! I love it! Let me know your thoughts...

As for Grace Kelly she is a style icon and a fashion inspiration to me!

Happy Friday!

First of all this dress has made me sooo happy today!

Secondly, its FRIDAY... I have been a little under the weather all week and finally starting to feel better... thank goodness... just in time for the weekend!

I am starting off my Friday night attending "Cheers for Charities" at a local restaurant and a portion of the proceeds go to the American Cancer Society.

Saturday I am going to run into the office for a few then help some of my friends move into their new apartment... I get a closet:) After the move J and I may go up to one of the local winery's to see what it is all about...!

Then it's SUNDAY Sunday Sunday... of course is Sunday Funday, which probably means work around the house!

Have a great weekend everyone:)

Italy here we come!!

Tonight Justin and I were talking about where we really wanted to go on our next vacation... almost simultaneously we said ITALY!!! I can not wait... it won't be until next year, but this gives me plenty of time to plan... which is what I love to do! But for those of you who don't know.... I HATE TO FLY.... I know it's a horrible thing, but I will just have to get over it because nothing is going to stop me from this trip!! So here are a few places I want to hit while we are there... Let me know if you have any suggestions:) Cross your fingers for me so this really happens and isn't just talk!

A Sweet Tooth and Showers!

One of my favorite things to do is plan and host!

In the past few months I have had the privilege of hosting all kinds of showers from bridal to baby! So of course you have to have something sweet so I thought CUPCAKES! I just so happen to work with a woman who makes the most adorable and delicious cupcakes around!

Bridal Shower

The bridal shower was a Monogram and Mimosa's shower for one of my very best friends who I have known literally forever... and of course with lots of pink and green! This shower was held at my parents house back in the RIC where the bride and I grew up across the street from each other! Thanks to my amazing mom who helped me with everything!

To go along with the theme all the cupcakes had the letter "G" in all different fonts! Some were decorated in polka dots and some in animal prints.

The yummy spread!

(From the right): Bride, my mother, me, mother of the bride and twin sister of the bride!

Baby Shower

The baby shower, which was a couples shower, I had a lot of help with... there were 4 of us that hosted this shower and it was soooo much fun! Thanks Mandy, Susan, and Lauren!! It was decorated in pink in black and again polka dot... I'm assuming by the color you know the shower was for a little girl! This shower was held at our home in the "Noke"!

The attention to detail is incredible... look at their sparkly, rosy cheeks!

The Mommy and Daddy to be!

The boys baby bottle race!! You have to have a corny game, especially when it involves guys:)

As for couples shower... I definitely recommend it!

So next time you find yourself planning an event or shower don't forget about all your sweet tooth friends out there and try some cupcakes!

Check her out!! Super cute and yummy in the tummy:)

Fallfest!!

Fallfest 2009 started off with a trip to The Homeplace... Now if you like some good old southern cooking... you will LOVE the this place!

We pull in at 12:15 and the line is out the door... We have an hour wait but probably the best hour wait I have ever had with my good friends LT, Randi, Ryan, Justin, and Bob!!! :) Next thing you know... KEEN for 5.... KEEN for 5! You sit down and right away they bring you pitcher of sweet tea and lemonade. Then 2 minutes later you have fried chicken, ham, roast beer, mashed potatoes, green beans, pinto beans, rolls, apple butter, and cooked apples all just staring you in the face! WOW.... that's all I can say!
Next, we headed down the road to the pumpkin patch! We started off with a hay ride up to the corn maze... then to the patch to pick out the perfect pumpkin!
We couldn't fine out way out!
After the patch we headed home for some chili and football! You couldn't ask for a better Fallfest/Sunday Funday!!

Sky High GNO!!

Last night was the first GNO to start the Fall and Winter season!
G= Girls
N= Night
O= Out
We had a blast... there is nothing better then kicking back with your best gal pals and a glass of vino! Love you ladies!
We are always trying to think of new and fun things to do and I think I found our next adventure... Drum roll please!!
Dinner in the Sky
Dinner in the Sky is hosted at a table suspended at a height of 50 metres.
It accommodates 22 people around the table at every session with three staff in the middle (chef, waiter, entertainer…).
Most of these are over seas but believe it or not they have one in Vegas....
Ladies.... ROAD TRIP:)

Rock out on your next vacation...

Thanks to Her Southern Heart... I have found my next vacation spot! Well I don't think you can really vaca there but look how beautiful this is...!

Clingstone Mansion, a house built over 103 years ago in Rhode Island's Narragansett Bays, sits out on a rock for all to see. This beautiful home sat abandoned for decades until Henry Wood, the owner, bought it in 1961.

The house has 23 rooms on 3 stories. The picture windows in every room give you views you would not believe. The house is maintained by an ingenious method: the Clingstone work weekend. Held every year around Memorial Day, it brings 70 or so friends and Clingstone lovers together to tackle jobs like washing all 65 of the windows. All workers welcome!

This house survives through the tender loving care of family and friends.
I say save the date for next Memorial Day weekend for a "work weekend" at
Clingstone Mansion!

Don't forget your stash...

The weather is changing so I have decided to start putting away some of my Summer clothes and replacing them with Fall and Winter. Don't get me wrong I love a sundress and sandals as much as the next person, but I just really love my warm, cozy winter clothes:) Scarves, mittens, leggings, and boots... OH MY!

The funny thing is I just so happen to be wearing all of them today... except the mittens... but did find some that I must have...
What do you think... the cutest things ever!! Can't you just see yourself putting your finger up to you lip and talking in funny voices?! Well I know I would:) So next time your heading out and its a little nippy... Don't forget your stash... Mustache that is!

Fall into Pink

October... ahh one of my favorite months of the year. In October we have the beautiful fall colors that illuminate from the trees; we have Halloween ghost, goblins and jack-o-lanterns, and of course we have football, candy corn and pumpkin pie, but don't forget about Fall's new color... PINK.

October is also National Breast Cancer Awareness month, so to all my fellow women out there, men too, check out some of the sites to learn more about this disease.

On October 26, 2009 I will be attending Roanoke's 12th Annual Pink Ribbon Gathering. This will be my second year in attendance and I will be accompanied by one of my closest friends, Quincy, and her mother, who is a survivor! Below I have a link to the event so take a look!

I'll follow up after the event:)
