Bling bling... bling bling (to the here comes the birde tune)

Over the weekend while we were snowed in, Justin and I decided to do some Christmas baking!!! The best and worst thing about baking is that you find yourself eating everything you make:) We made peanut butter balls, peanut butter blossoms, sugar cookies and fudge!!! Here are a couple pics of the finished product!!

A Wonderful Winter Wonderland Surprise

This past weekend we were hit by what they are calling the Blizzard of 2009! I loved everything about it... snow angels, snowmen, hot chocolate, fire in the fire place, baking, eating, Christmas lights shining from underneath all the snow, and being snowed in with the love of your life:)!! It was a wonderful weekend... but a VERY SPECIAL one for one of my friends!

A long time friend of my brother's, Matt, met his match and decided to make it official. This past weekend they were in Washington DC, at Sonoma Restaurant, where they had there first date 5 months ago. Not only was his future fiance in for a surprise, but so was he.

Little did they know that there were four wedding photographers, ShawnRedder , Sarah Hodzic, Jessica Del Vecchio, and Kip Pierson, sitting a few tables away and the hostess, who one of the photographers knew, let them in on the little secret! Knowing what was about to happen they were able to catch the proposal on camera... Check out these pics!

After dinner they went over and introduced themselves letting Matt and his fiance know thaty they had captured that moment... and ended up having an inpromptu engagement photo shoot.... REALLY, SHUT UP this is like every girls dream... these pictures are magical and I hope you all enjoy! Contrats Matt and Meg I wish you both the very best!

"It's the most wonderful time of the year!"

Hello friends!!! Goodness it has been a while... I hope everyone is feeling as jolly as I am right now. It's Christmas time!!!! The music, the baking, the smell of pine... I LOVE IT!

So after Thanksgiving... which was WONDERFUL by the way... take a look at everyone after the big feast!! And this is minus a few :)

Ok so now I was ready to start decorating for Christmas... As I am up in the attic bringing down the boxes, I start to realize I didn't have as many decorations as I thought I did. Living in the apartment we had a few things but now that I am in a house... there is a lot more to decorate! So needless to say I did a little shopping... whoopsies!
The lights are hung and trees are up... Drum roll please!!

Haha JUST KIDDNIG!
It may not look like that but the house is now decorated!! It still needs work but it will come with time:)

Christmas is a time to share with friends and family and I am soooo excited because the "Aunt-ourage" and crew are making there way back up to the Star City to help me spread some Christmas Cheer!

The cheer will start off with a little "Dickens of a Christmas"! This is an event held every year in the downtown market area. It's a festival that offers roasted chestnuts, carriage rides, parades, hot cider and cocoa, street performers, carolers and of course Old St. Nick himself!

Come check it out! I will follow up with how the weekend goes!!

It's been so longggg....

Wow it has been quite a while since my last blog...
Things have just been crazy and now we are getting in to the Holiday season and I LOVE IT!

Well here is a little recap of the past few weeks...

The "Aunt-ourage" made it to the Star City and we had a blast... well I know I did! They brought me the cutest house warming gift and I have put it to use just about everyday now! THANK YOU:) We shopped until we dropped on Saturday morning at the "Stocked Market" then enjoyed a wonderful lunch at one of my favorite little restaurants, Fork in the Alley.

Then it was off to the lake... They checked out the house then said their goodbyes... Can't wait to see everyone again tomorrow for TURKEY day

That Sunday J and I woke up at the lake and had ourselves a nice little breakfast. Later that afternoon we headed back to town for a little horseback riding!!! It was amazing... I had not been on a horse in FOREVER... and it was probably a pony not a horse. We are definitely going back... Thanks J!

The next week consisted of a lot of work...blah haha and then a lot of play as well. We had our JL meeting at the movies where we saw "Amelia"... what a woman! Then a few nights later was a Southern Living Party followed by a Little Black Dress GNO!! I have the best friends in the world:)

Now Im finally catching up... this past weekend was GREAT! Friday night was date night at our favorite Mexican place. Then we came home and prepared food and drink for the tailgate on Sat!

GO HOKIES!!! This was the last home game of the season so we had to go all out! Hokies win!

And now it's Thanksgiving!!! I am heading home and couldn't be more excited. I am soooo thankful for all of the amazing friends and family I have in my like! Thank you everyone! and I wish you all a safe and happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Feet part II :)

Happy feet:)

So the past few days Ida has had a little effect on us with all this rain... it has just been very cold and very wet. I stopped off at the store last night after work and I was running back to my car when a HUGE puddle popped up out of no where... hehe I don't know how I missed it really but then next thing I new I was drenched from the knees down.

When I get home J was not there... he had forgotten something at work and needed to go back. When he finally got home he had a few bags with him. As he was emptying them he pulled out these

and said "I saw them sitting there and thought you just had to have them!" Isn't he wonderful:) It's the little things that mean the most! He makes me, and my feet, soooo incredibly HAPPY!

"Aunt-ourage"

Ok I know it's only Wednesday, but I am soooo excited about this weekend:)

On Friday, 3 out of 5 of the "Aunt-ourage"are coming to visit!!

*Aunt-ourage= my mom and four of my aunts who pretty much go everywhere and do everything together!! I love my family:)

And this time they are coming to visit me in the Star City!

We will start of with weekend with a Girls Night In!! This will consist of a lot of gossip, laughter, wine and cheese!!

Then on Saturday we are going to head out to the Stocked Market!

Stocked Market= A holiday bazaar put in by the Junior League of the Roanoke Valley!

If you are in the area come check it out!!

And then after shopping until we drop we will hi up one of my favorite lunch spots and head down to the lake! As for after that who knows but I know it will be a weekend for the books!

Thursday is the new Friday!

Well at least this week it is for me... I have tomorrow off, which means a three day weekend for this gal!!

What to do, what to do...

Friday I plan to wake up, work out, and then try to hit up the spa for a facial and a massage...

I know right! :)

But Justin won a gift certificate at a CMN charity event featuring "My Radio"... Incredible check them out! So I think tomorrow will be the perfect time to put that to use... thanks J!

Then on Saturday J and I were invited to an Oyster Roast!!

My mouth is watering just thinking about it...

This will consist of oysters and clams 3 ways

Raw, Roasted, and of course "Rockafella":) and of course football and friends!!

As for Sunday, I really wanted to go pick apples or venture out to one of the local wineries because the weather is going to be B-E-Autiful and the leaves are still amazing... but that is still up in the air!
